今日はリアムペインのストリップザットダウンについてご紹介していきたいと思います。この曲についてリアム本人は今までに自分が内に秘めていた感情だったり周りに対するイメージを表現したもので、ファンの人は所々驚く所もあるかもしれないけれどしょうがないよね。と語っています。また本人も自分の今までの楽曲のタイプとは全く違った新しいジャンルのメロディに挑戦してうまく成功したのでよかったとも語っていました。この曲はミゴスのクエイヴォとのフューチャリングソングで、PVのダンスの振付師はビヨンセの振付師でもあるジャッケルナイト、また楽曲の製作にはプロデューサーのスティーブマック、それとアーティストとしても有名なエドシーランが携わっているそうです。

この曲でちょっと話題になった歌詞がありまして、"You know, I used to be in 1D (now I'm out, free)かつては1Dにいた（今俺は自由なんだ）”という歌詞なんですが、ファンの人達はこの歌詞からもしかして"１Dにいたころは居心地が悪くてようやく自由になった?"と解釈する人たちがいて話題になりましたが、本人が言及するに、今はグループ活動からソロになって少し自分のやりたいようにできるといういい意味で
ということらしいです。
話が変わりますが、洋楽の曲(特にロック)って歌詞が割と自信に満ち溢れている(例えば君は僕といたほうがいいよなど)ように感じました。またそれも文化の違いだったり言語の感じ方の違いだったりして面白いんですけどね。
また班長(hunchou)というのはフューチャリングしているクエイヴォのニックネームだそうで、そもそもhunchouという言葉は日本語の班長から来たそうで、意味もボス、上司といった意味らしいです。太平洋戦争の時代に日本人の人から伝わったそうで今ではあまり使われていない古い言葉みたいですね。
